Christian Merida represents American Express to Congress and the Administration on privacy, data security, intellectual property and cybersecurity issues and assists his team on matters related to financial services. Previously, Merida was director of Congressional and public affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the world’s largest business federation, acting as lead lobbyist on e-commerce, privacy, intellectual property and telecom issues. He has held positions at trade associations including AeA, the American Society of Association Executives, and the U.S. Energy Association. He earned a B.A. from the University of Virginia.
