Publicis Media

As CEO of Publicis Media, Steve King oversees the media hub of Publicis Groupe, one of the largest communications networks in the world. He is responsible for its global agency brands – Starcom, Zenith, Digitas, Spark Foundry, Blue 449 and Performics – brought to life through 23,500 employees in over 100 countries.

In addition to his responsibilities at the helm of Publicis Media, he also serves on Publicis Groupe’s elite, four-person Directoire management board, which includes Publicis Groupe CEO and Chairman Arthur Sadoun.

King led the launch of Publicis Media in 2016 as a brand-led organization powered by global practices. During his time as CEO, the company has consistently ranked at the top of COMvergence’s New Business Barometer report, most recently being ranked #1 globally for H1 2018, due to massive wins with clients such as Macy’s, Marriott, Lenovo, Dunkin Donuts and L’Oreal.

He has driven unprecedented growth and transformation thru the launch and expansion of PM Precision which paved the way as the industry’s first, true agency-led programmatic model and today holds 400+ traders who manage $1.5B+ for more than 125 clients globally; the continued leadership of the Publicis Media Exchange (PMX) practice as the largest investment unit with 42.8B in billings in the US and $76.2 B in billings globally (Source: RECMA); the launch of a new Commerce practice dedicated to aggregating and scaling Publicis Media’s commerce expertise globally to span strategy and acceleration, media and investment, and content and merchandizing; and a leading role in the creation of Publicis Spine, which fuses together all of Publicis Groupe’s data assets, technology and data talent to drive and link marketing transformation and digital business transformation.

Prior to leading Publicis Media, King was CEO of ZenithOptimedia worldwide and was on the founding employees of the groundbreaking media agency, Zenith Media, in 1988.

King, a regular presenter on industry trends and frequently interviewed for his views on global media issues, was named to Adweek’s Power List in 2017 and 2016.
